The Fanshawe Regatta weekend was held on June 6 and 7 at Fanshawe Yacht Club located inside Fanshawe Lake Convervation Area in London.
If you've got some good photos, please send them in.
The weather on Saturday was just about perfect: sunny and warm, and some decent winds. Because the lake is long and narrow, there isn't much flexibility in setting a course, but the wind lined up nicely providing us with a good long windward leg. We had three excellent races.
Don took an early lead at the start of the first race, and held on to it for the rest of the Regatta!
There were some closely fought battles a little further back in the pack.
It was a little cooler and overcast on Sunday morning. The wind had swung round almost exactly 180 degrees, so we were able to use the same marks, just in a different order.
Sorry, no pictures of Sunday's racing.
Once we were off the water, we all gathered to hear the outcome!

Note: Those sailing single-handed were assessed a penalty of 1 point per race, and each crew's worst result was thrown-out.
Of course, all the competitors wanted to offer our thanks to the Race Committee for their fine work.
The Race Committee: Paulette Tae and Heather Pugh.
We'd also like to thank Fanshawe Yacht Club for allowing us to use their facilities.
It turns out Fanshawe is also a great venue for aviation enthusiasts: the Reservoir lies right below the approach path to London Airport.
Thanks to Heather Pugh for capturing some great photos from the comittee boat, and Les Bienczyk for capturing some on land.
