Capsize Practice

On Friday of Killbear week, we held a capsize practice: a great chance to try your skill at righting the boat while help was close by.

As the instigator of the event, Marika capsized her boat first. She demonstrated excellent form applying torque to the centreboard.

Les was a quick study.

Elaine and Emily Richardson give it a try.

Not to be upstaged, Steve and David Richardson demonstrate their style.

Since Marika and her boat were already wet, others took advantage of the opportunity to practise.

Elaine gives Katrina a chance to to practise.

The sail starts to move slowly through the water, then a bit more, and finally the boat comes over.
